Samassi Primary School Historic Building

Samassi’s historic elementary school building was built in 1913 on the land where the premises of the old Augustinian convent stood, in the locality of Su Cunventu, designed by the famous engineer Dionigi Scano of Cagliari.

It is located in St. Geminian’s Square and was originally intended to accommodate school classes divided by gender, as can be seen from the inscription at the two main entrances.

It is developed on two levels with a rectangular plan and is elevated on a plinth. The facade elevation of the historic building faces southwest, has a symmetrical layout consisting of three compartments marked by projecting elements at the two entrances; it is divided horizontally by molded stringcourse cornice.

A striking view of the village and countryside can be seen from the upper windows.
