Satta Sequi kindergarten and orphanage for girls

In 1878 the S.p.A. “La Speranza” was established to open a Kindergarten in Ozieri.
Many nobles and people belonging to the wealthy classes of the City participated in the sale of the numerous shares.
The Kindergarten opened on December 6, 1880, in the building donated by Don Agostino Mannu Touffani, the management of which was entrusted to the nuns “Daughters of Charity” until 1981.
Brothers Don Filippo and Don Pietro Satta in 1908 recognized the reception of orphans that the sisters had already undertaken, opening the “Orphanage Feminine” which in 1913 was elected a Moral Entity.
With Don Pietro Satta’s bequest, the building adjacent to the building where the Asylum was transferred was built.
Brothers Ignazio and Giuseppina Tola-Gaias in 1945 founded the “Tola Gaias Male Orphanage.”
The education of the guests was entrusted to the sisters until 2011.
On October 23, 2008, the shareholders’ meeting of the three Moral Entities resolved to merge the three entities and established the La Speranza Foundation, so named in memory of the S.p.A. that gave birth to the Kindergarten.
