The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Castro is one of the most important places of worship in northern Sardinia. Dating from the Romanesque period, the sanctuary stands on a panoramic hill overlooking the surrounding area, offering a breathtaking view of the Logudoro fields. The church, dedicated to Our Lady of Castro, retains an atmosphere of great spirituality and devotion. The sober but striking interior is enriched with works of art that tell the story of the cult and the local community. Every year, the shrine attracts numerous pilgrims, especially during the feast of Our Lady of Castro, which is celebrated with processions and religious rites. The shrine’s location, surrounded by nature, makes it an ideal place for reflection and meditation. In addition, its historical and religious importance makes the shrine a symbol of faith and tradition for the community of Oschiri.
