Simplician Civic Library

The Simpliciana Civic Library, the beating heart of the city of Olbia, hosts highly successful workshops and literary reviews in the rooms of its historic building. The building, home to the City Hall until 1935, was later occupied by the Police Commissioner, the Magistrate’s Court with its associated district jail, the Post Office and the Municipal Police Headquarters. Equipped with over 50,000 volumes, it represents not only a repository of knowledge and knowledge, but also a meeting place for students in the area. The second floor houses the library of Prof. Panedda, whose bust donated by the city’s Rotary Club is at the building’s entrance, and the Spano Fund, a private library that belonged to the professor at Sapienza University in Rome. Noteworthy is the Multimedia Library and the Alfonso De Roberto Lecture Hall, a journalist and politician who inaugurated the municipal library in 1973.

Students will be responsible for explaining to visitors the presence of a thermal bath facility, dating from the 2nd to early 3rd century AD, located underground between Terme Street, Corso Umberto 1 and Santa Croce Street.
