We are on the park of the Montagnone rampart, a place created in the Este period as a defense garrison of the Walls and as an urban delight, which was dismantled under papal and Napoleonic rule and went through a long period of degradation only to be recovered with the Walls Project in recent decades.
Sheds occupied by workshops, later used as a community center, are built on the bastion after the mid-20th century.
The City Council decided not to demolish them in the recovery of the Walls and, in the 2000s, to create a center in which to do culture, music and theater in an urban and landscape significant place.
He thus granted the rooms to associations for use, and today the center, which was named after the great psychiatrist Antonio Slavich, is home to four organizations: Sonika, Ferrara Off, Musijam and the Veneziani Chorale.
