The church of St. Antiochus stands on the northern edge of the basaltic relief on which much of the Crabola district rests, which according to tradition is the oldest part of the town. The extremely scenic location, open toward the Planargia valleys and the sea, adds value to this inherently important presence. The construction of the small church can be ascribed to the 17th century, as a single-nave hall with a double-sloping masonry roof. A “chapel” was added to the nave, breaking through part of the right side wall and allowing the space available to the faithful to be enlarged. The presbytery, vaulted and slightly raised above the floor level of the nave, is concluded by an apse in which the 18th-century stucco altar is wedged, with four small columns and valuable pediment with vases and plant garlands ennobling the niche with the statue of the saint.
