The parish church of Gonnostramatza is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel. It originated in the 15th century, although only the apse and sacristy remain from this historical period; the rest is the result of the extension work held during the 1700s and subsequent restoration. The plan of the church is a hall with three chapels on each side, of which the two near the chancel, definitely the most pronounced, form a kind of transept, from the right arm of which there is access to the sacristy with a quadrangular plan, which communicates with the apse. In the high altar the beautiful marble antependium is highlighted, and in the two major chapels two works of great value can be admired: the descendant Crucifix of 16th-century origin and the retable by the stampacino painter Lorenzo Cavaro. Notable among the valuable statues is the Risen Christ from the 17th century. The latest restoration sought to restore the original features of the ancient 17th-century facade, making it inflected arch again.
Inside the sacristy it will be possible to visit a display in ancient liturgical garb entitled in Pompa Magna.
