Tonnara of Flumentorgiu

Porto Palma, also called Flumentorgiu or better known from earlier times as “Tunaria,” was a landing and mooring place for vessels, boats and ships, and an ideal place for tuna fishing since the 1600s.

The historic village was inhabited by fishermen devoted not only to fishing but also to tuna processing, an activity to which this charming place owes its name.

The old houses and tenements have been finely restored, such as the arch of the Barracks portal, located in the Palazzotto di Sant’Antonio, creating a charming village located at the foot of the promontory a hundred meters from the sea.
