The former court building is located in the central Santa Maria della Neve Square, where the Cathedral of the same name stands.
There have been several uses for the complex: episcopus and seminary in the first half of the 19th century, courthouse in the second half of the same century, middle school since the 1960s, and finally home to various cultural associations operating in the city. One part houses the historical funds of the Sebastiano Satta Public Reading Consortium. The last restoration it underwent was probably in the early 1960s. The general intent, which supported the design idea developed by the working group, was to create a multifunctional building, with a prevailing destination as a historical museum but, if necessary, also as a historical archives, with multipurpose rooms for reading, research and conferences.
