Villa Asquer – Museum of Oil and Musical Instruments

Villa Asquer is a residential architecture, built in the mid-19th century, with neoclassical forms attributed to masters of Architect Gaetano Cima. The Asquers became part of the nobility around 1775 with the marriage of Joan and Peter Ripoll. The building, first a business nucleus, then the home of the family headed by the town’s Marquis and Medico condotto Don Gavino Asquer, was among the most important farms in the area. The facility covers about six thousand square meters. In the center we find the main house on two levels. The ground floor housed the servants while the upper floor was the family’s usual residence. Loggias, storerooms and stables are developed in the large central courtyard at the back and sides. At the end of the 20th century it was purchased by the Municipality of Tuili and now houses the Olive and Oil Museum, the Basket and Shawl Room, and the Musical Instrument Museum.
