The Villa, now home to the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Institute, was designed in the 1920s by engineer Bruno Cipelli at the behest of the Colonna family, originally from the island of Ponza. The building has two floors with a level added later, topped by a belvedere turret. The front door, framed by half-columns with Corinthian capitals and featuring the noble coat of arms, is preceded by a pronaos supported by four gray granite columns and a small staircase, protected by sculptures of two lions. Floral motifs, lyre, female and male faces, cornices, overcorners, and faux hanging pilasters in off-white stucco adorn the entire building. The uniqueness of Villa Clorinda consists precisely in the coexistence of elements of medieval-inspired neo-Gothic style and the Art Nouveau style.
