The itinerary is the first open-air Contemporary Art Gallery in the city of Cagliari. The project was born in August 2014 from the meeting of the Urban Center Cagliari association with a series of local artists specialized in street art and the art of murals, including Manuinvisible, Crisa, Tellas, Skan, and La Fille Bertha, who each created a mural in the context of the new bike path that connects the Su Siccu marina with Viale La Palma, near the entrance to Molentargius Park. The artists followed the theme of “Nature,” proposed by the association, precisely because of the Gallery’s proximity to the important naturalistic hub of Molentargius. The route of the Salt Gallery will begin from the first pedestrian overpass encountered along the bike/pedestrian path in the direction of Molentargius, it will skirt the banks of the San Bartolomeo canal for what will be a walk among art, nature and history, in which places perhaps too often forgotten by the citizens of Cagliari will be rediscovered. Within a landscape context such as that of the Molentargius Park, which finds its end in the salt storage pavilion, the many naturalistic diversities provide an interesting starting point for our route, without neglecting the history and events that have animated the area for more than a century and providing an analysis of the works, information and curiosities about the artists who created the works.
