The municipal museum Antiquarium Arborense of Oristano was founded in 1938 as the third public museum center in Sardinia. Its interior houses artifacts spanning a chronological span from prehistoric to medieval times. Three retables, evidence of the Sardinian-Iberian school of painting, are also kept there.
