The museum, established in 2012, is the largest diocesan museum in Sardinia. It rises between the Cathedral and the Tridentine Seminary and consists of several exhibition spaces. The St. Pius X Hall houses the permanent collection, which brings together a selection of silverware, liturgical vestments and wooden statuary from the cathedral treasury (15th-19th centuries). Valuable relics of the medieval cathedral are also preserved here, including bronze Picchiotti and illuminated manuscripts. The Seminary Rooms house the archaeological and numismatic collection, while a large space is dedicated, along with the Exhibition Gallery, to temporary exhibitions.
