The islet of Proratora is located in the stretch of sea in front of the promontory of Punta Est. Here in 2011, in collaboration with the Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area and the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro, the first excavation campaign was conducted, which revealed a settlement of a commercial type, perhaps a landing place for ships and a place for the exchange of goods, from the Republican age (3rd-2nd century B.C.).
