The exhibition provided a not-to-be-missed opportunity to approach a fascinating though little-known protagonist of art history: Carlo Bononi was one of the great interpreters of seventeenth-century painting, whose name, not surprisingly, has often been juxtaposed with those of Tintoretto, Carracci or Caravaggio.
