Church of St. George Martyr

The church of San Giorgio was built on the ruins of the nuraghe de sas trinta battallas on the top of a small promontory from which there is a breathtaking view. The church dates from the 16th century and is titled precisely to St. George a martyr warrior saint. The church has a single nave where on the sides are small secondary altars that are lower than the central altar, precisely built on a higher base than the church entrance. Above the altar is a statue of St. George on horseback, a wooden statue dating back to the period when the church was built. This statue has been
undergoing restoration in recent years. Inside the church in recent years some anonymous frescoes have been found. Around the church, where there is now the square and the belvedere, was the village cemetery that was later relocated, around the 1950s/60s.
