The building of the Land Reclamation Consortium in Via Mentana is located in the Addizione Erculea. The first historical image of the building is Andrea Bolzoni’s Pianta e Alzato della Città di Ferrara (1747). In 1880 cadastral documents describe it as a “house with workshop.” In 1913 the Consortium purchased the house and an adjacent warehouse, which were demolished in 1917 and rebuilt. The result of the work was the present three-story building in eclectic style.
The main tasks of the Ferrara Pianura Land Reclamation Consortium are the hydraulic activity of irrigation and water drainage. Today, the Ferrara Pianura Reclamation Consortium is the largest in Italy, both in terms of the size of its contributors and the extent of its reclamation works.
