Crypt of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta

The access to the Crypt is located outside the Cathedral, in the Cathedral Square, next to the right ramp accessing the Church; the second is located at the end of the left aisle, inside the Church and impractical. The Crypt is divided into fifteen crosses, resting on ten columns and twelve pillars protruding from the perimeter walls. The Crypt was a burial place for nobles. Set on the east wall of the crypt is a tomb slab from 1386 that encloses the remains of giovinazzese nobleman Antonio Sindolfi. Other tomb slabs can be found on the floor and walls.
