The church represents one of the rare examples of Byzantine-era religious architecture preserved in Sardinia. Its construction can be traced back to the period between the 10th and 11th centuries. The building is surrounded by a vast garden with orchard, in which there are still ancient essences and in which “The Garden of Biodiversity” has been created. The church is part of the Romanesque-Byzantine Itinerary of Sardinia.
