The Laber Center is a multipurpose production center for the performing and visual, musical and performing arts.
The complex, with more than 3,000 sq. m. of usable space distributed on four levels, is a versatile, equipped and multipurpose work, creation and research venue for the creation of theatrical, musical and choreographic performances and everything related to them (sets, costumes, soundtracks, etc.).
Born from the conversion, still in progress, of an imposing and evocative disused industrial structure (the ex-Caseificio la Berchiddese), the center, acquired by the Municipality of Berchidda and managed by the association Time in Jazz, has been hosting national and international dance and theater companies, artistic residencies, concerts, exhibitions, internships and film festivals since 2009, within a unique project of experimentation, dissemination and cultural promotion in continuous evolution.
The ferment and attention that have arisen in just a few years around the center, the productions carried out, and the participation of the public in the activities promoted, demonstrate how the Laber finds in Berchidda and the surrounding area the ideal environment in which to operate and with which to interact. In this sense, the rooting of Time in Jazz in the territory and its being at the same time an internationally recognized vehicle of cultural promotion, represent one of the strengths of the center and one of the reasons for its uniqueness.
