The complex is among the most important examples of industrial archaeology in Sardinia. The former Monteponi Elementary School, built in the 1950s, looks like a characteristic mining school. The presence of the beautiful mosaics that speak to children and games, and its “mine mouth” location make it a cultural-historical place for both childhood and mining communities.
