The library was established in 1956 as a popular library with the intention of promoting local culture.
Currently the library is located in a building that was donated by Noblewoman Annunziata Enna for the creation of kindergarten.
The library is named after Giorgio Manca, a fallen Milanese in World War I with a medal for civil valor.
It is part of the Montiferru Library System, which includes 12 municipalities.
Thanks d to a regional grant given to the Montiferru Mountain Community, the facility was entirely renovated in 2006 and currently, thanks to its many services, it is frequented by users of all age groups and is included in the interlibrary loan system.
