The structure has been preserved in the very simple style that characterized the humble Marmilla parish churches of the 15th and 16th centuries, with an exposed stone facade. It has a single nave over which there are three chapels on the left side and another, added in the last century on the right side. The chancel is bordered by a balustrade and raised by a short flight of steps in front of the late 18th-century stepped marble altar. Of particular interest are the 17th-century baptismal font, carved from a local stone basin; the small, ancient polychrome wooden altar with twisted columns, housed in the so-called “women’s chapel”; and the walnut vestment, the sacristy’s furniture, made in 1855. In the 1980s, burials from the old cemetery came to light during repaving.
