The parish, inaugurated in May 1957, is dedicated to St. Raphael the Archangel, the patron saint of Villasimius, whose feast day is celebrated on Oct. 24. Inside is a fine statue dedicated to the patron saint, a wooden crucifix from the 1700s, and a statue dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A “rediscovered treasure” consisting of chalices, crowns, votive offerings and valuable objects donated by the faithful is preserved in the inner rooms of the sacristy.
