The mural was created as part of a project of artworks dedicated to the environment, proposed by the Oikos Active Citizenship Association as part of the cultural call for proposals “Rethinking the City.” This is the second mural created in collaboration with the Association, this time made by the artist Retro in collaboration with the art workshop laborArte of Cagliari. Volunteer citizens were also involved during the work program.
The work, created in mixed media, depicts a glimpse of the Molentargius-Saline Regional Natural Park, which is very rich for the species that inhabit it and should be protected, such as pink flamingos and the Silvio Pelican, which has been present within the Molentargius wetland since 2008.
The mural was unveiled in February 2025.
