Soroeni Nuragic Village

The Soroeni Nuragic Village is located a few kilometers from the inhabited center of the Municipality of Lodine, passing by the sanctuary of N.S. d’Itria located in the territory of the Municipality of Gavoi. The Village has been the subject of study and excavations since a few years ago, according to the findings it dates from the Paleolithic period until the arrival of the Romans in Sardinia. The village has numerous huts, more than twenty, and the central nuraghe is perched on rocks that are an integral part of the nuraghe itself. Some of the huts, presumably dating to the first human settlement of the village, built under large rocks, are peculiar. Also present at the site are two domus de janas, one of which remains unfinished. Peculiar are some huts that do not have the usual circular shape, but rectangular. Singular is the interior of one hut where there are peculiar quadrangular compartments built next to each other for half of the building wall.
