The 18th-century Villa Groppallo houses the original plaster casts of the four allegorical figures of Arturo Martini’s Monument to the Fallen, as well as other extraordinary works documenting the sculptor’s Vada activity, such as The Blind Man and The Benefactor, a terracotta monument dedicated to Don Cesare Queirolo. The Civic Museum, inside, displays part of the rich material from the Roman period of ancient Vada Sabatia, which developed along the Via Aemilia Scauri, a strategic crossroads between Piedmont, Liguria and Tuscany.
