Villa Mosca, also known as Villa della Batteria – due to the presence of a battery of cannons positioned on the land where it stands – was designed and built by Eng. Edgardo Mosca, founder together with Erminio Sella of the renowned Sella&Mosca winery. Built between the late 1920s and the early 1930s, the villa has a polygonal plan and incorporates the characteristic signs of the Art Nouveau style, which is represented not only by architectural elements but also by the choice of the Villa’s spatial positioning within the plot of land on which it stands, the composition of the volumes, the orientation with respect to the road, and the overlooks and views.
