Since 2013, San Gavino Monreale has been the protagonist of a cultural and artistic ferment that, thanks to the efforts of associations, citizens, local and international artists, has created a true open-air museum. These are the famous murals that have graced the city streets in recent years. The works evoke the figure of Eleonora d’Arborea, pay homage to saffron, the foundry, and the railroad, as well as to peasant civilization and civil society, and reveal topical themes and points for reflection on human existence.
