Roots tourism: in Sulcis the last territorial meeting of Sardinian Roots

After the stops in Mandas, Gavoi and Alghero, the Sardinian Roots – Tourism of the Roots project makes a stop in Sant’Anna Arresi for the fourth and final territorial meeting dedicated to the project. this is a key moment for the historic region of Sulcis, one of the four pilot areas along with Trexenta, Sassarese – Algherese and Barbagia di Ollolai, called to take up the call for the creation of a network between operators and institutions and the use of DMS platform dedicated to Roots travelers.

The appointment is set for Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Sant’Anna Arresi in Aldo Moro Square, 1.

Sardinian Roots – Roots Tourism is a project promoted under Spoke 2 of e.INS – Ecosystem of Innovation for Next Generation Sardinia, funded by PNRR and coordinated by the University of Cagliari, in collaboration with Rete Gaia Srl, Consorzio UNO, Imago Mundi OdV and Sintur.

The goal is ambitious: to create a stable network of operators, businesses and institutions capable of enhancing the cultural identities of Sardinia’s historic regions and strengthening ties with Sardinian communities around the world through the lever of Roots Tourism, that is, an experiential, seasonally adjusted tourism based on a return to family and cultural origins.

The project declines by activating the aggregations represented by the historical regions of Sardinia and at this initial stage focuses on four pilot areas-Trexenta, Sulcis, Barbagia di Ollolai and Sassarese/Hungarian.

Imago Mundi OdV is a partner in the “Sardinian Roots” project, part of Spoke 2 – Tourism of the Ecosystem of Innovation for Next Generation Sardinia (e.INS) and coordinated by the University of Cagliari, is funded by the PNRR – Mission 4, Component 2. It represents a synergistic collaboration between research organizations, local institutions and local actors, aimed at innovating the tourism offer related to migratory phenomena and the link with the land of origin.
