Monumenti Aperti is heading into its summer break: before doing so, however, it makes stops in 11 municipalities scattered throughout Sardinia’s four historic provinces-Ardauli, Ballao, Carloforte, Elmas, Genuri, Neoneli, Padria, Stintino, Teulada and Tuili-plus a new addition to the event’s network-Segariu. From the sea to the mountains, from archaeology to contemporary art, from historic centers to the suburbs: many and varied, also on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2, the places of our cultural heritage told as always by students of all levels and by volunteers from each area.
Special itineraries and events are also planned for this weekend in an effort to showcase the treasures to the public in an even more engaging way.
Monumenti Aperti returns Oct. 12-13 in Bitonto, Apulia, continues Oct. 19-20 in the Emilian city of Ferrara and 11 towns and cities in the Union of Municipalities of Alta Gallura, and closes on a high note in Cagliari, Oct. 26-27.
THE HEART OF SARDINIA APP
Heart of Sardinia is a free iOS and Android app that has been promoting the island’s tourism heritage for seven years. It will be the official app of the 2024 edition of Monumenti Aperti and a digital guide for all visitors: inside it will be possible to consult the map of monuments that can be visited and save itineraries in advance.
Heart of Sardinia will also work to collect anonymized and aggregated data on visitor habits to measure the event’s outcomes.
