In Ollolai, churches dedicated to saints venerated in the Christian East include the parish church of
San Michele Arcangelo, patron of the armies of the Byzantine Empire. Its construction, in late Gothic style, dates from 1600-1700. Originally it was probably dedicated to St. Bartholomew, in fact inside the church there is still a Gothic chapel dedicated to the saint. The church is located in the center of the main square (Piazza Marconi). Entirely built of stone, it houses inside ancient works of ecclesiastical tradition, including the Tabernacle and Tabernacle by Carmelo Floris and the Crucifix by painter Franco Bussu. The church is divided into three naves one central and two side naves. The left side aisle turns out to be the oldest, here in fact is a Gothic chapel in pink trachyte dedicated to St. Bartholomew. Behind the central altar we find the wooden choir, dated 1974 and restored some time ago.The present bell tower is about a century old, and was recently restored. It was probably originally not so high as at a certain height, it can be detected that, the granite stone that makes it up changes.
