Center for documentation, training and education on food, productions and nutrition – intangible heritage pathway.
During the tour, set up at the Expo space, Center for documentation, training and education on food, productions and nutrition, visitors will be presented with a small exhibition of material culture objects witnessing the practices related to the “Knowledge & Flavors” of the village of Bortigiadas and common to the whole of Gallura. Visitors will be able to learn more about grain processing, bread and cheese production, wild edible herbs, lentisk oil production, and honey production, with a focus on the link to the territory and the techniques used at the family level in the villages and stazzi of Gallura. The interviews carried out in the territory of the municipality of Bortigiadas have made it possible to bring to light production techniques that are now in disuse, but still alive in the words of those who remember exactly every stage of the production of foods that were then highly sought after; scents and flavors return to memory, recalling the link with the land, with the Mediterranean scrub and opening glimmers of the future, of the possibility of recovering the ancient techniques, of returning to the knowledge of native plants to ensure that they return with them also the respect, knowledge and attachment to life that characterized the life of yesteryear.
